Rick has practiced as a Certified Public Accountant since 1978. He is an honors graduate from the University of Utah, and has 12 years experience with a Big-Six firm. He has been with Tanner LC since 1988. Rick has served as managing partner of Tanner LC since 1992.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Rick sits on the University of Utah Business Advisory Board for the School of Accounting in the David Eccles School of Business. He is also a member of the State of Utah Department of Contractors Licensing Board Committee. His international professional experience includes service from 1985 to 1986 in the Netherlands for a Big-Six firm.

Rick's expertise is primarily in the areas of audit, SEC clients, closely-held businesses, revenue enhancement, litigation support, and management consulting. He has experience with a wide range of industries. He has served as a team captain on a number of quality reviews and as an expert witness in litigation cases.

He believes in a business approach that nurtures long-term, win/win relationships with his clients. Along with his professional life, he is active in community and church affairs. In his spare time, Rick enjoys scuba diving, golf, and sightseeing.
