Meet The Experts
Before joining Tanner, Dan was a co-founder of Proficio Services Group, a firm that
focuses on strategic and business planning, leadership development, business coaching,
and accounting services. He specializes in working with companies that find themselves
at a strategic inflection point which often include start-ups, as well as turn-around and
restructuring projects. He is certified in strategic planning and leadership development
through the Business Learning Institute.
Prior to starting Proficio Services Group, Dan was the CFO for Proficio Management,
a small private equity firm. Dan began his accounting career in public accounting as an
auditor with Squire & Company and later Tanner LLC in Salt Lake City. In 2011, he was recognized by the Utah Association of CPAs as the Outstanding CPA in Business and Management.
Dan is a graduate of the 2010 AICPA Leadership Academy and in 2011-2012 served as the chair of the Young CPA Network Committee for the AICPA. He was recently selected to serve as his state’s elected member of the AICPA Governing Council. Dan is active in government and has worked closely with the Utah Association of CPAs to launch Financial Ready Utah, a non-profit organized to promote fiscal responsibility.
He currently chairs the West Jordan City Budget Committee and the West Jordan Chamber Government Actions Council. Dan earned B.S. and Masters of Accountancy degrees from Brigham Young University where he graduated with honors, summa cum laude and with high distinction, respectively.
Dan is an avid fly fisher, backpacker, and gardener. He and his wife Bibiana just welcomed their fourth child to the family.
