A Significant Practice:

Tanner has approximately 35 professionals with defined contribution and pension plan experience, and we are the leader in auditing the most employee benefit plans in Utah.  Our benefit plan audit clients include plans with just over 100 to more than 11,000 participants.   These plans have net assets ranging from under $500,000 to over $450,000,000. During 2011, our professionals spent over 10,000 hours auditing employee benefit plans.  This is a significant segment of our practice, not just an afterthought.

Our objective is to help protect the financial integrity of each client’s benefit plan and to provide them with new insights and a higher level of support.  On-site discussions are helpful in this process and enable us to come up to speed quickly and bring a fresh perspective to the benefit plan clients that we serve.

We Know The Guidelines:

Our professionals understand the DOL, IRS and state and federal guidelines. Every year, Tanner sends staff, managers, and partners to the AICPA’s National Benefit Plan Conferences. Following the conferences, we then have additional internal training to ensure that everyone is up-to-date on the current DOL, IRS, and state and federal guidelines. We believe that the more benefit plan training that our professionals have, the more we are able to help our clients better comply with the standards and rules that apply to their plans.
